Why does a withdrawal take 7 days?

Transferring assets from Metal L2 to Ethereum L1 requires 7 days because of a security measure known as a Challenge Period. This waiting time is in place to guarantee the safety of the Metal L2 Bridge and prevent any possible vulnerabilities, as outlined by the Optimism L2 protocol.
